What Kind of Building Do You Work/Study In?

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I like my workplace, in a modern block in a square in Bloomsbury/Holborn, central London. Looks ok with some art-deco style touches like ziggurat effect on the upper floors and on the railings outside with spherical lamps.
My floor is open-plan around the central light-well with desks grouped in blocks of four. The windows don't open, but look out over the leafy square with views of the City including St Pauls and The Gherkin.
There's a large kitchen which is maintained hourly with a huge table. We're not allowed to eat at our desks, and we don't have bins at our desks - which is a good thing imo for keeping food mess and filth away from the working area.
Main drawback is that the Chairman & MD are on our floor, a few yards behind me, so any time spent pissing around on the internet is risky. This might not be a bad thing but it even looks bad at lunchtime.
There are loads of attractive, intelligent and personable female colleagues in the vicinity, which certainly helps with the quality of the working environment.

Depends on where I am. The office I currently work on in the UK is alright, not too hot either and has access to natural light and has windows. The one in Switzerland I have been working in has natural light. Unfortunately at the site I am working at in Mexico City currently there is no natural light in the room I am in which is horrible.Speaking of Erith:

I work in a modern office building, which does have card-operated doors, non-opening windows and inefficient aircon. However, there are no cubicles, and I can see the Kremlin out of my window.Graffiti in a public toilet

I work inside the kind of public building they stopped building back in the 19th Century.
