If Californians want high-speed rail, that's fine. The citizens of California should have to pay for it themselves, however. There's no reason taxpayers in other states should have to help pay for a high-speed rail line that won't benefit them.

Especially for this rail project. If it was DC Metro on the other hand...

On a normal day here I can see forever, SD you can see 4 feet.

I remember actually being able to see the coast of Mexico clearly once in 3.5 years. Usually blocked by a nasty brown haze.

Actually our air quality is one of the best of any large city in America. There is a lot of coastal haze though but that is natural and blows in off the ocean.
