Yes that is a main shortcoming just looking at casualties. I'm sure the rise in casualties the day after d-day would be used to scare people today.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

It's 93 years since the Battle of the Somme but still our soldiers are dying.

        Nixon was a Democrat??

The difference between Afghanistan and Vietnam is that we have a reason to be in Afghanistan: to hunt down and kill that MF Osama bin Ladin.

...and Karsi has a least a figleaf of being chosen democratically. The leaders of South Vietnam were just a string of military dictators.

Obama is a Republican? Nixon didn't get America into Vietnam any more than Obama got us into Afghanistan...

You weren't talking about "getting into." You were talking about "protecting corrupt leadership."

Mmmmmmm. Much as I'd like to pin the Vietnam War on the Republicans, I'm just not ready to be laughed at.

The media is a business, which requires that they sell things to stay in business. Not really hard to figure out how a bunch of hacks like Fox stay in business, they just produce news that people want to hear.
I think that it is not that simple. It certainly isn't true in reverse, that just because some media establishment exists and produces news, it's news that people want to hear.

Nixon was the one who abandoned South Vietnam, you moron. I expect Obama to do the same in Afghanistan.

Wow, lazy bunch here. Trace back the story to where it came from and you find a news website connected to a media watch group that stated purpose is to fight the liberal media. The whole story is meant to cost Obama his favorable rating and paint him as the reason we may fail in Afghanistan. They bought an AP photo to lend some legitimacy to the story.

Or, am I seeing this wrong?

Indeed, **** MSNBC right in the ear.

And **** the conservative media as well.

And **** all the other media too; not for being liberal or conservative, but for being corporate, for selling ad space being their #1 concern.

Yes, you are seeing it wrong. It doesn't matter how unreliable a source is, because people will jump upon it and try to make it an issue. That works for politics in every country I know, or at least can understand the media of.

Those soldiers should stop dying soon.
