I know. I just wanted to point that out. Note that I've never actually read a single word written by TM.

The media isn't liberal, that's patently false and a dumb meme repeated by too many people...

The media is a business, which requires that they sell things to stay in business. Not really hard to figure out how a bunch of hacks like Fox stay in business, they just produce news that people want to hear.

            The media cost us Vietnam,
Actually, what cost us Vietnam was the fact that South Vietnam was ruled by a series of corrupt, dictatorial generals, some of whom were even selling drugs to our troops. The media told the truth on them, and the American public decided those @holes weren't worth losing the lifes of tens of thousands of American soldiers and marines.

BTW: Intrade.com, on the issue of: "Announced before midnight ET on 31 Dec 2009 that 10,000+ additional troops to be sent to Afghanistan" has shares being bought at 79. This means that the market is betting 4:1 that at least 10,000 more troops are going to be sent. So, the article isn't have much of an effect.

The corrupt leadership of Afghanistan was aided an protected by a Republican president, while the corrupt leadership of South Vietnam was aided and protected by Democratic presidents.

have you heard of this thing called "freedom of the press"?

if you hate established media and think you can do better, become part of it. hell, found your own news source if you're angry enough. let's see how well "david floyd news corporation" can do.

edit: having actually read the news report, what is exactly wrong with it? so they reported that 43 soldiers have been killed in a month -- would it be better if they wouldn't report at all and public at-large would be left to trust rumours? 43 is really low, i thought it'd be closer to 430.

I have never understood why people are surprised that when we go on offenives against enemy strongholds our casualties increase. I think they play to many video games with respawn
