Another song from 2pac's politically criticized debut album...

This is what I don't get. If Dan Quayle and Tipper Gore took issue with 2pac's politics that's one thing... but to grandstand and demand that Jive/Interscope pull it from shelves! I mean come on.

Quayle made the statement, "There's no reason for a record like this to be released. It has no place in our society."
    Really? Lyrics like this?

    "Words of Wisdom
They shine upon the strength of a nation
Conquer the enemy armed with education
Protect thy self, reach with what you wanna do
Know thy self, teach what we been through
Armed with the knowledge of the place we been
No one will ever oppress this race again
No Malcolm X in my history text
    Why is that?
Cause he tried to educate and liberate all blacks
Why is Martin Luther King in my book each week?
He told blacks, if they get smacked, turn the other cheek
I don't get it, so many questions went through my mind
I get sweated, They act as if asking questions is a crime
But forget it, one day I'm gonna prove them wrong
Not every brother had his mother on the welfare line"

I mean really? "There's no reason for a record like this to be released. It has no place in our society." Can someone explain it to me?

    Is this purely racism?

"I'm fed up, we gotta start teaching childern
That they can be all that they want to be
There's much more to life than just poverty
    "

Oh! What horrible message with no place in our society!

I want someone anyone to explain this to me. Were Dan Quayle and Tipper Gore really this racist?

    Okay anyway... back to music...

In my day, music was about the feeling and the stories and came from the heart... not all this loud and obnoxious punk rock crap

I dare you to not enjoy that song. If you don't like Maxwell you have a psychological disorder that probably needs to be treated professionally.

ice t - girls lets get butt naked and ****

"home boys, you know the situation
you're trying to rap, but they give you frustration
nose in the air, turning you down
when all you really wanna say is "yo baby, lets get down"
but you know you keep frontin' (you keep frontin')
making conversation and you talk about nothing (nothing)
when all that's really on your mind, is what?
yo baby, lets get butt naked and ****!"
