RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Ailing R&B singer Etta James is gravely ill and her husband of 41 years is seeking a California court order to control more than $1 million of her money.

The 72-year-old singer is best known for the 1961 hit "At Last." Court documents show she lives in the Woodcrest area of Riverside County, has been diagnosed with dementia and is undergoing treatment for leukemia.

    • She has dementia? Maybe that explains the odd comments about Beyonce playing her in Cadillac Records.

The Black Keys have an album they did with a crapload of rappers. Here's the single for Blakroc with Mos Def and Jim Jones.

All the hate Asher has for rap and its his favorite bands that are eager to do even an entire album with rappers.

Blakroc is a rap rock collaboration album by Ohio-based blues rock band The Black Keys and several hip hop and R&B artists. The project has been overseen by Damon Dash, co-founder and formerly owner of a share in Roc-A-Fella Records. The album was recorded at Studio G by co-producer Joel Hamilton. Album guests include Raekwon, RZA and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard of the Wu-Tang Clan, Jim Jones and NOE of ByrdGang, Mos Def, singer Nicole Wray, Pharoahe Monch, Ludacris, Billy Danze of M.O.P., and Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest.[2]

The Black Keys are currently working on another Blakroc album with guests including Chicago-based hip hop duo The Cool Kids, as well as Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Jay Electronica, Stalley, and the trance fusion rock band The Disco Biscuits among others.
So Asher, I guess your Black Keys would disagree that rap is crap

Doesn't matter if they disagree. That album bombed, and they never did it again. That should tell you something.

        • That album did NOT bomb. It hit #7 on the rap album charts and the Black Keys are following it up with a sequel

The Black Keys are keeping their successful career as Blakroc rolling. All the elements are set up to keep releasing albums. The band has its own label, co-owned with Damon Dash. The recordings are by nature quick to produce -- their debut took only 11 days for 11 tracks. And after the success of their first album, finding more collaborators should be a walk in the park. The only question that adds suspense to the making of Blakroc 2 is how they can arrange a lineup of rappers to top their first effort.
          Suck it, Asher.

          Like I said...

              Suck it, Asher.

              Like I said...
Note how it didn't chart on any of the real charts, only the rap charts.

Rappers frequently use real music to rap over, how is this any different?

It didn't chart at all on the rock charts because it ain't music anymore, it's rap. No different from all of the other talentless rappers sampling real music to their ****.

              • Well The Black Keys don't seem to mind being the music to rappers! That's one album released and another in production!

Suck it, Asher. You lost. One of your favorite bands is essentially a rap band now.

                • Most of the Black Keys' albums are crap, even without the rap. It wasn't until Brothers that they finally got it right.

And where the **** do you get the idea that they're one of my favourite bands? I like about three or four of their songs, all from Brothers -- that's it. There're dozens of bands I like a lot more.

                    Suck it, Asher.

Your favorite The Black Keys have become a rap band.

Don't worry. Their latest RAP album will be released some time this year so you don't have to wait long before you can buy it in the RAP SECTION of FYE.

For posting Tighten Up, which is a fantastic song.

                      I don't get it.

You're either trying to troll or you're really ****ing stupid. Actually, pretty sure it's both.

I'm thrilled to know my abysmal opinion of rap hurts you so much.

His location says "permabanned" and he edited a bunch of his posts in the Music Thread to say nothing except "." Although he still has a bunch of broken videos. I can't say anything was lost...

                              • I posted the lead single from R. Kelly's latest album recently. Here's two more tracks.

You'd be forgiven if you thought this was a late 60's duet in the style of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

                                Or Kelly by himself.

I think R. Kelly, personal controversies aside, has cemented himself as the greatest soul singer of his generation.
