A slight change of pace... A Britsh group called Demon Fuzz released an album called 'Afreaka!' in 1970, with a potent melange of psych/funk/ and early Afro-Rock netween the covers. Their version of ' I Put A Spell On You':

Not sure about the pictorial content matching the sounds....

Dave Van Ronk says: " Don't miss this record", this record being Judy Roderick's 'Woman Blue'. I love finding things of quality like this:

Recorded in 1965, when she was 22.

The Eurythmics and 'The City Never Sleeps'. I love the line about the sound of the underground trains- based on Annie Lennox's own experience in a flat...

    Let us pray.

Back in 1965, a teenager named Jonathan Klein accepted his Rabbi’s invitation to compose some music for their prayer service. A few years later, it was recorded with some of the top jazz players such as Herbie Hancock, Thad Jones, Ron Carter, and Jerome Richardson. It was then issued as ‘Hear O Israel: A Prayer Ceremony In Jazz’ a limited custom pressed LP and sold at a few synagogues. It soon disappeared, becoming a hard-core jazz record collector secret and copies traded for silly money. How such a caliber of player got involved, remained a mystery.
