If you're too lazy to go out and vote unless persuaded, we'd be better off without your opinion's consideration. The exception being in regional elections where an excess of democracy has subverted the democratic process...the answer there really is to have fewer elected officials.

IMHO persuading people to get involved in the political process is a good thing. I wouldn't criticize drives to increase youth voting on the grounds that young adults are "too stupid" to vote.

They are disinterested, same with most rich people.
You're the one presuming they are stupid or ignorant (or otherwise do not have access), just because they are poor. You're blaming their lack of registration on "being poor"; you're the one with assumptions about people based on economic status, not me.Last edited by Ecofarm; April 22, 2010, 17:46.

What does being poor have to do with knowing one can vote? The "poor" in the US have TVs and computers. They also go to school, free for 13 years (and eat free there too).
But they never heard about voting?

lol the poor suck. I sure don't want them voting.Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostI'm going to guess that it's because he was a good president?
And holy ****, are people still defending ACORN? Here's my question. If people are too stupid to realize they can vote, do we really want them voting?

There is a ton of evidence that ACORN broke multiple laws at the top levels of the company, including covering up embezzlement by the founder's brother.
Try reading the congressional report (signed by 16 Reps), and the 2 follow-up reports. They are full of documented illegal activity at top levels.
One more thing: you think that all voter registration services produce 30% invalid registrations? 400,000 invalid registrations out of 1.3 million submitted. Do you think the average voter registration service actively campaigns for candidates?

I'm not a republican, or even a conservative; however, I can read congressional reports and am not inclined to believe ACORN over them. Are you inclined to believe that ACORN is guilt-free despite a mountain of physical evidence presented in the report?Last edited by Ecofarm; April 22, 2010, 17:12.

I'm beginning to think you really are as stupid as KH says you are. THEY WERE ALLEGATIONS UNSUPPORTED BY FACTS made by a highly partisan individual congressman not an entire committee. There was no trial yet ACORN was still singled out for punishment and that's why the court ruled that stupid "report" you linked to an unconstitutional bill of attainder! This is like the upteenth time this has been pointed out to you so get it through your thick skull.Originally posted by Ecofarm View PostI already said the pimpster was silly. That has nothing to do with the criminal actions documented in the congressional committee report.
Further more at least two states (where the supposed "crimes" took place) did detailed investigations and found NO PROOF that any of the accusations made by Congressman Darrel Issa were true! Stop being a ****** and learn to read.
OMG, you really are a ****. The "fraud" in question is individual contractors who tried to defraud ACORN trying to get ACORN to pay them for registering "Mickey Mouse" and similar names and ACORN WAS THE ONES WHO TURNED THOSE PEOPLE IN TO THE COPS! BTW that's voter registration fraud, not voter fraud (no one showed up to vote claiming they were Mickey Mouse) where ACORN was the whistle blower and you're so stupid you're trying to blame ACORN who was both the victim and the ones who called the cops?! Put the crack pipe down, son.http://republicans.oversight.house.g...CORNREPORT.pdf
You reduced it by a factor of power and substituted 'charged' for 'convicted'. C'mon.

Why would anyone want Reagan's face on something declining in value?

I'll just throw in my 2 @@ and say that any rag that's concerned about Avatar setting environmental policy and disappointed that there is little push for replacing Grant with Reagan on the $50 is not one that I would consider a reliable source of info.

Considering I was one of those that happily jumped on the "CRUCIFY ACORN" bandwagon, I have to admit in hindsight that it was a great hatchet job that in the end lacked a lot of substance. Yeah, there was a bit of fraud in some of the voter drives but probably no worse than any other orgs that size. And a few bad apples but again no worse than other orgs that size. And you have no idea how hard it is to admit this. But I can admire the hatchet job. It was well done and quite effective at the time.
