I'm losing faith in film as a vehicle for good science fiction.
Are there any good cyberpunkish movies out there other than Blade Runner? Every one I've come across is either about secret military superhuman killing machines or robots/androids/replicants trying to become more human.
No.
Movies bite. So does TV.
Spend your money on books instead.

I thought we're trying to have a serious discussion? It says serious in the thread title!- Al. B. Sure
Avatar is coming soon which maybe will fit into the Transhuman category?
I don't follow sci-fi that much. Problem is as you can see with Blade Runner. Films like that don't do well commercially despite being great reviews and a cult fan base.
So what we get are hollywood films of robots blowing **** up. Am I the only one tired of all these robots in movies now days?
I was impressed by the imagery in GITS more than anything else. The plot itself was rather simple, and everything wrapped up way too quickly. But that is the type of science fiction I'd like to see more of out there. Japan seems to have a lot more of it than the US does.
There were two TV series sequels to Ghost in the Shell that have more extended plots. You can get them via Netflicks, either by renting the CD or by streaming.
"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!
Really, I watch a lot of anime/etc. And half of the reason why is because that is where most of the better SF is.

While Babylon Babies was a really good cyberpunk novel (IMO). The movie (Babylon A.D.) which was looking promising didn't really had any good review(main actors Van Diesel and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz), even Mathieu Kassovitz was very critical of his own movie.
Kassovitz starts off this tragic tale by explaining that "the scope of the original book [that this is based on] was quite amazing." But unfortunately the result is not the same. "It's pure violence and stupidity," Kassovitz says. And that's not a good thing that he's describing. "The movie is supposed to teach us that the education of our children will mean the future of our planet. All the action scenes had a goal: They were supposed to be driven by either a metaphysical point of view or experience for the characters… instead parts of the movie are like a bad episode of 24." If a director is saying that about his own movie, you definitely know something went wrong, very wrong. Kassovitz attempts to explain how the entire film slipped out of his hands and into Fox's, which is where all the problems began.
Babylon A.D. hits theaters this coming weekend, August 29th, but apparently it's not going to be the movie that even its director, Mathieu Kassovitz, wanted it to be. In a rather eye-opening interview with AMC, Kassovitz opens up about the problems he had with Fox and the troubles with the film. If you're one of

Plus a movie. Not really sequels, more like, erm, alternate histories. No Puppetmaster, just daily jobs of Public Security Section 9. An excellent series, I might add.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"
The reason nobody makes cyberpunk films is that cyberpunk was a niche subgenre that became irrelevant nearly 20 years ago. You'll have to wait another 5 to 10 years for the nostalgia factor to bring it back to the popular consciousness.
The reason nobody makes transhumanist or posthuman films is that transhumanism and posthumanism are pretty silly, and again, hardly anybody cares about them. I don't think they'll ever be popular, because it's too weird, unless you expand posthuman to include things like Wall-E and 9.
