Trademark of Tarantino was that it was hilarious...
Did it have his obligatory "trunk shot"?"I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

Actually this one did not. Though it did have something a bit similar (I like to call it the "identification as a Nazi shot").“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I like Tarantino's movies but I need to wait for the DVD (theatres aren't receptive to my bad habits)."I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure." - Clarence Darrow

Nope.
I'd just prefer a director who knows when to stop and has some notion of what longueur means.
You can look that up Asher-it's similar to the feeling induced after reading the first word of one of your posts.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.

I like a lot of modern cinema. I just never raved over Tarantino-for the reasons given.
Is postmodernist the new way of saying plagiarist now ?
"I have sibling rivalry with Orson Welles," Tarantino tells Tracy Smith. "I don't think he's that good. All right? I have sibling rivalry with him and Stanley Kubrick."
Oh my- anything goes for publicity-shy Quentin. Perhaps he just needs a bit of a lie-down and a rest before getting the idea for his next film (oops, meant to say homage) from a Korean/Japanese/Italian film of the 70s.Vive la liberte. Noor Inayat Khan, Dachau.

Are you simply not aware of postmodernism in film? Seriously? Homages and direct references to other movies and movie tropes are part and parcel of that (among other things designed to reiterate the artificial nature of story and prevent the viewer from being emotionally attached to the subject matter as in conventional film).
A simple plargiarist would hope you don't get where the inspiration is coming from. Those who are engaged in homage or pastiche are expressly hoping that you DO understand where it is coming from and think about those works (it is no accident that Enrico Morricone does a few songs in "Inglorious Basterds") while watching their work.
Regardless, Tarantino is absolutely brilliant (and hence why he's been rated so highly as a director).“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

You must be so proud of yourself. I'm quite certain that you just don't get his films. Not that they're deep in any way, it's just clear to me you are not in his target audience and are incapable of being in the right mindset to enjoy this kind of film. It's not intellectually superior enough for your insecure self."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
