Really? I see a fair number of older guys here that were single for extended periods and who could rack up 30 partners without being in any way exceptional. Throw in perhaps the one guy in 50 that is REALLY good looking and still happens to come to poly, an active gay guy or two and the betor teen nympho/old FBI persona and the numbers seem to match to me.
Could a person or two have lied? Sure. I cannot know that for certain with anyone.
But grandpa troll makes a believable story based on the age and experience he has portrayed on here. Others ditto. I am not asserting that the numbers are totally accurate for sure. I am asserting that there is nothing inconsistent with the demographics I know about here on poly

Not to be rude, but many of the older people who were single for a long time would probably have had a lot of difficulty pulling that much *****

I don't know if betor is at 31+, the gays are actually who I'm assuming most of the real 31+ votes come from, and from what I've seen not a single Poly dude is REALLY good looking.
Why this assumption that attractiveness leads to more sex?

Men tend to add 3 to the number of partners they've actually had. So at least 6 posters here will have to have sex 4 times before they lose their virginity.

"Capitalism ho!"
1) Ability (self explanatory)
2) Motivation: a less-attractive man is less certain of his ability to hook up with reasonably good-looking snatch on demand. When he manages to grab a decent piece of trim he holds on to it.
1. Did you never witness the totally promiscuous girl thing (I'm not saying YOU slept with her) but saw the phenomenon.
2. Are you stereotyping poly as all computer or science geeks and then applying the "can't get a girl" sterotype? There may be some element of that but there are lots of people that portray themselves as being in relationships and IMHO people that can find relationships (they have the confidence etc etc and can also find a sex partner from time to time)
3. KH knowing what you know from poly would you believe me if I said I had 5 partners in a stretch of 5 weeks? Do you believe Grandapa Troll's story? Do you believe Guynemer when he says 30+ is easily attainable if he had been single a little longer (since its SO VERY difficult to get laid if you are a doctor)?

This reminds me of a classic biologist-physicist-mathematician joke
A mathematician, a physicist and a biologist are sitting at a coffee shop and they're watching a house across the street. Two people walk into the house and then three people come out.
The biologist says, 'Oh, my God, they've reproduced!' The physicist says, 'No, the measurement must have been wrong.' And the mathematician says, 'I don't know about that, but if another person goes into that house, it'll be empty again.'
I don't buy that. 3's with 3's, 7's with 7's (with a little room to move up or down for power, money, etc.) but people of all types are still shagging. a "5" is no more likely to latch onto the "5" he met than the "7" is...

Yes, of course. I'm not denying that this type exists

Dude, it's far easier to worm your way into one girl's pants and then go out with her for years than it is to hook up with new trim every month. Again, I'm not denying that ANYBODY here has done it. I am denying that most of the people who claim to have done it on a silly poll on Poly actually have. 9/49 is like 19%. That's far too high.
3. KH knowing what you know from poly would you believe me if I said I had 5 partners in a stretch of 5 weeks?
Yes, actually.
Do you believe Grandapa Troll's story?
I don't read his posts.
Do you believe Guynemer when he says 30+ is easily attainable if he had been single a little longer (since its SO VERY difficult to get laid if you are a doctor)?
Dude, Guy was AGREEING with me, as far as I can see. I don't think 31+ is unattainable. I just deny the claim that anything like 19% of Poly denizens have done it.
I don't buy that. 3's with 3's, 7's with 7's (with a little room to move up or down for power, money, etc.) but people of all types are still shagging. a "5" is no more likely to latch onto the "5" he met than the "7" is...
Eh. From my experience guys who are better looking tend to be less monogamous. I doubt we're going to convince each other here.
I would concede your point with the extreme ugly however as the available pool of partners (equal or worse looking) is very limited. A "7" can lower standards a few notches for a one night stand whereas a "1" hasn't much room to maneuver...

Why this assumption that attractiveness leads to more sex?
The media, seeing a good friend of mine who was ridiculously attractive being essentially propositioned by girls regularly (he loved it in his single years but later it annoyed the hell out of his wife) and even my own experience.
But I knew a guy that was pretty plain, even somwaht unattractive that still had lots of partners. He was funny as hell, unabashedly direct and had a real thing for the much larger ladies. This guy could tell a girl within 5 minutes of meeting her that he really wanted her to lick his balls and have her laughing about it. Sometime he got slapped or the girl got offended but I once saw him leave with the very girl that slapped him. he apologized and said something like " you know that guys think about sex constantly and you SAY you want us to be honest" all delivered with a grin-- He was so notorious that when he worked as a bartender, all the other male bartenders had t-shirts made up that said "I'm not Joe". This was a guy that might say to a girl " I have to try harder and talk more, I'm short and have a small penis". Crashing and burning 10 times wouldn't bother him.
Overall I would say confidence and a desire for more sex leads to more sex. But attractiveness can get even the least confident guy, laid.
