More relevantly, there are probably only three countries on Zkrib's list whose disappearance would have resulted in defeat or stalemate for the Allies: the USA, the UK, and the USSR. Of those three, the USA arguably was the most important, though you could certainly make a case for the USSR as well.

It was the Americans, the Soviets, the Brits, the Chinese, the Norwegians, the French, the Australians, the Indians, the Canadians, the Poles and lots of other folks. Without any of these, the war would have been lost. It was a world war, and it was a very closely run thing.

It just goes to show the Soviets where good at getting killed. But it should not be ignored that the Eastern Front was a huge affair arguably a greater drain on Germany than any fighting taking place in the west.


Also the occupation of China was a drain on Japan the west seems to forget too easily.

They used German tanks?

Yes, and the Nazis used Soviet tanks as well. Tanks in the field were often abandoned if they had mechanical problems, ran out of gas, got stuck, as well as tanks that were knocked out but not destroyed. Which ever side held the territory at the end of the battle got the goods. The Soviets, in particular, were excellent at fixing up damaged and even destroyed tanks.

I'm not aware of the Americans or UK reusing German tanks, but I haven't really looked.
