A: Some patients leave the hospital shouting and screaming at the top of their lungs.
Q: Where do you get your funding?

"How often do you get daily training?"

That wasn't actually one of your questions, was it?

Sorry, all of this falls on the project manager.
The questionaire should have been tested prior.
Interviewer training seems to have been non exisitent.
A few trial interviews with reviews of the translations should have highlighted most of the problems.
Crappy execution. Blaming others for your shortcomings seems unfair. Granted it does look like you weren't given much to work with, but a good project manager would have realized that prior (which you seem to have) and made accomodations for it. (which you didn't) I will agree that doing it in a secondary language make is tougher but that shouldn't be an excuse.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

No, they rarely asked the questions that I wanted them to.

I agree with Rah. Why are you even using interviewers? Just work up a written or online questionaire. That way you get exactly the same questions each time. To my knowledge, that is these accepted way of collecting this kinds of data.

              I wasn't the project manager.

They didn't follow the questionaire that I wrote.

They all did fine during the training. They all seemed to know what were good questions to ask and what the project was about. I'll admit the training that I gave was short, but I was informed that the PhD gave them full training and provided documents to prove it. What good those were.

A few trial interviews with reviews of the translations should have highlighted most of the problems.
I would have loved to do this, but it was beyond my control. They arranged the interviews before even letting me know. Everything was rushed by them and I was often kept in the dark. I spent the first two weeks try to get all the information that they refused to give me before I arrived. Half of that information was wrong. Then they wanted to finish everything early. The PhD made these decisions, and I fought nearly everyone, but they said they were more experienced.

My hands were tied most of the time. I brought up my complaints only to get, "Trust us, we know what we are doing."

I will agree that doing it in a secondary language make is tougher but that shouldn't be an excuse.
And finally, Rah. **** you. You don't know the situation, yet you're so happy to judge. Maybe if you read what I had written, you'd see that this was an internship and that I had a PhD in charge of it. All of what you mention weren't actually my responsibility, you moron. That's why we had the PhD there (and the department head, who was conspicuously absent). Her job was to make sure the project ran smoothly. She was the one who had the authority. My job was to design the experiment, assist with data collection, and analyze the data.

Go **** youself and then get a clue.

Your knowledge shows that you are a moron. Look up qualitative research then rip off your dick and shove it up your ass. No wonder you agree with Rah.

My experience with Chinese researchers is: don't use them. Independent thought is non existent. Quality control is something that happens on Pluto. Pride in ones work is only visible when results are presented. Bottom line, 99 % of them aren't worth the air they are breathing.

And yes, I am talking about both market research and fundamental research in scientific topics.

The only thing they have going for them is their 6-10 % GDP growth and God knows it is only through sheer volume they managed to keep this up.

FOB chinese graduate students are similar to Euro grad students in preparedness. Both are better than US grad students.

Honestly, if you skimmed the top 30 or 50% off the US scientific community and sent them elsewhere you would have a pretty sorry looking crew of leftovers too.

Hmm I've worked at one of the largest global research companies for over 15 years in all the different phases.
I've got one project going that is being done in 10 different languages. Proper planning resolves most issues.

SO go screw your incompetent ass.

They must have a lot of failsafes to keep you from ruining their company, if you can't understand what the difference between an internship and a management position is. Frankly, I don't care what company you're the janitor of. You're still stupid, you arrogant ignorant *****.

Even our moron interns take more responsibilites on their jobs then you seem capable of.

Take some pride in your work. And stop blaming others. The last bastian of incompetence.
