My grandfather was a free mason but he was a Scottish Free Mason and he didn't like racists. Personally I'd vote for kicking out all the white racists. Oh, and **** the south.

My father is an evangelical pentacostal Christian.

He used to think that Obama is the antichrist.
But now that Obama doesn't look so successful, he thinks that the antichrist will be chinese.

I think my father is a racist.I need a foot massage

He could just join the Shriners. All the silly let's-pretend games, plus they're socially useful.

Maybe he's a statistician. In selecting a Chinese for the anti-Christ he has a higher probability of being right.Originally posted by Barnabas View PostMy father is an evangelical pentacostal Christian.

1.) You can't join the masons no matter who you are, you have to be nominated by a member and then pass trials before entry. So if this guy is just pissed that nobody would nominate him there is no story, but it is more likely that he was nominated and then denied membership, which in and of itself means that not all the lodge members are racist.

2.) Why does Georgia = South? I live in South Carolina, there are no such problems here.

3.) Stop being a bigot."The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.

Assuming the facts of the story are correct (a stretch given the fact it is the Guardian after all), he's already a member and other Mason lodges in Georgia are protesting despite the ruling of the Grandmaster in Georgia.Originally posted by Patroklos View Post1.) Gotcha. That ridiculous on the part of the challenging lodges then, and Oerdin is still a douche."The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.

Your Catholic grandmother must have been so disappointed.Originally posted by Barnabas View PostMy father is an evangelical pentacostal Christian.

It's also called sterotyping, which you do a lot of, despite protests to the contrary.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Learn to read. It says clearly in the article:Originally posted by Patroklos View Post1.) You can't join the masons no matter who you are, you have to be nominated by a member and then pass trials before entry. So if this guy is just pissed that nobody would nominate him there is no story, but it is more likely that he was nominated and then denied membership, which in and of itself means that not all the lodge members are racist.

And further more it has a Mason DIRECTLY explain the upset was due to racism:The grand master, or leader of the Masons in Georgia, J Edward Jennings Jr, sent an email to members saying that Marshall was a legitimate member and should be treated as such. But that did not quell the row.

To answer your second question, yes, it is a problem for the whole south and most people probably don't believe your claim that such racism doesn't occur in South Carolina. It's still there especially in the older population no matter how much you deny it. 400 years of history just doesn't go away that fast."There were ill-informed brethren who were surprised that there was an African-American brother," David Llewellyn, a Freemason and lawyer for the Atlanta lodge, told the New York Times, "and some of them were very upset".Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
