"****" is also used informally as a derogatory epithet in referring to a person of either sex, but this usage is relatively recent, dating back only as far as the late nineteenth century.
In referring to a woman, **** is an abusive term usually considered the most offensive word in that context and even more forceful than *****.
so what do I see on wiki this morning on the featured article. An article about the English use of the grope**** lane in referring to a street name. I guess the English finally developed some good taste and stopped using that for a street name. Anyways I had to look the word up on wiki. Interesting read. It really is the last offensive word (aside from racial slurs). The f word really doesn't mean anything anymore. Didn't President Bush get caught using it with an open mike? No one cares. But if he called a woman a C word, the feminists would have castrated him.
My wife used to get pissed off every time I would swear in front of the kids, claiming that they would also learn to swear. The funny part is that despite my best efforts to introduce my kids to swearing in multiple languages, neither swear at all. I suppose that its a testament to the power of southern culture, where it is not acceptable to swear (at least not here), and peer pressure.

little johnny got asked to say a sentence that used the word "contagious"
he thought for a while and then said "When dad saw the neighbour trying to paint his house with a 1 inch brush he said it'll take the contagious"
PS: also from the Blink 182 song "Family Reunion": " **** piss **** **** ****-sucker mother-****er tits fart turd and ****."
"Life is the only RPG you'll ever play, The religious want to be one with the moderator, the scientists want to hack the game, and the gamers want to do both."
...and then somebody calls me up and says "mother-****er shouldn't be on the list". Why not? Because it's a compound word. Apparently it's got the word **** in it, which we've already put in the list. It's duplicative, don't you see? So I'm saying "Hey, mother-****er, how did you get my number?"
But you start down that path and you don't know when to stop. Take ****-sucker for example. Is that really a single word? Nope, you've got **** and sucker. Is sucker really a bad word? No. No, it's not. I mean - don't get me wrong. It's suggestive as hell..., but it's not a really bad word.
And then let's look at cöck. Is it really a bad word? Not always. Remember when you were in Bible school and they said "and the cöck crowed thrice?" and you were all like "hahaha, they put the word cöck in the Bible!" But it's not always a bad word.
How about the first time you heard about a "cöckfight" and you were like "naaaaaah! "
