Once, I was pillowfighting with my brother. This was when I was in my teens and he was about 11, so I was bigger and stronger than him and he got the worst of it. Near the end, I pinned him down and forced him to tap the ground twice (a judo submission) and he did this after I got my pillow over his face to smother him.

I got off him and sat down at the end of the bed to put my hair back up, and then he comes over and WHAPS ME OVER THE HEAD really hard.

Enraged, I fly at him and grab his pillow away from him. I hit him once or twice, but then an evil thought possesses me.

I feel a gaseous eruption coming on in my lower intestine. Switchblade-quick, I bring the pillow to my butt and quark out the biggest, baddest, most drawn-out, smelliest fart I can manage... RIGHT INTO THE PILLOW.

Allie (triumphant): Haha! Smelly pillow! No sleep for you!
Then my brother looks at me with an expression of coy cunning and reaches down to the floor. And to my everlasting horror, he picked up his pillow from the carpet.

I look at my own despoiled pillow with a sinking sense of growing dismay.

    That made me pretty angry.

I think it's safe to say that most of us know exactly what you meant.

I think he figured "do" as in "do hate kids" not "do not hate kids." It was kind of ambiguous, but still pretty clear to most people. Ben's probably just so used to being picked on that some things might come across wrong in his mind.

I've thought about it since this thread appeared, and I really can't recall the last time I was truly angry.

I can't remember the time that I was angry due to a personal affront as well. All the times I have been recently have been about reading about some injustice done to children/people/etc.

I don't get angry, it's way too exhausting, and less effective than when I am "disappointed" or "too tired to care anymore". I do a decent job of faking anger when as needed, which is more often than you would think. Fake anger mostly when wife is pissed and I have to join in or when I have to put on a show at work.

I can't believe nobody has said:

                        this thread makes me angry

                        that makes me angry!

I rarely get angry as in blood boiling/i want to punch someone in the face. The last time I can remember was a little over a year ago. I was driving home from class and some ***** was tailgating me. You have to understand, I drive fast anyways. So when some dickhead or ******* comes flying up on my ass, I get annoyed. But this was a rough day. I had some stuff going on at the time. She got on my ass. I gave her a nice brake check. Her tires screeched. Most people get the message. This woman sped back up, flashing her brights. So I gave her another taste. She honked. Then we came to the light. I got out of my car and screamed at her, "WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING ****?"

She was driving a black Mercedes. I live in a rich, white bred suburb and see a lot of these people. She gave me this "Well, I never!" look and rolled up her window. I swear, if she could have had a crank to make her power windows go up faster, she would have. I got right up to her window like a psycho and started screaming, "WHY DONT YOU LEARN HOW TO DRIVE".

I was pretty close to punching off her side mirror, but luckily I've got enough self-control to not go that far. I realize this was bad, but this was a serious low point in my life. Looking back on it and considering all things, if the worst I did was yell at some stupid ***** for tailgating me; I think that I am pretty low on the spectrum as far as anger issues go. I'll have maybe one of these blow ups every 3-4 years when I'm really under a lot of stress.

Generations that existed before science took off could expect that the next generation would be doing pretty much what they are doing. Being surpassed every generation, even by that which is common, is a pain in the arse.

Not really. One should expect it. It's a building process. Each generation, hopefully, builds on the progress and recognizes the errors of prior generations.
For instance, Ali doesn't have to worry much about polio. Those days are gone.

Being surpassed? In what way? Do you have younger relatives on Facebook? Have you seen kids lately? They are as dumb as ever. Technological progress should not be confused with progress as a people. We're a power outage away from medieval times. And I'm not talking about fried chicken and fake sword fights.

Nowdays, everything. I find I'm a very angry person compared to just a year ago. I don't post here much when I am not angry too, so that's a sign.
