I am an upcoming illustration senior at MICA looking to collaborate with a JHU physics or astronomy undergrad student or grad student on a thesis or dissertation, either current students or alum. I am interested in exploring the aesthetic of science and illustration's ability to convey complex and abstract information. The collaboration on the thesis or dissertation will take place during one semester, whenever the thesis is being worked on and completed, and will be part of a larger project that will span the course of the entire year and feature other projects fusing the aesthetics of science and art. The JHU student can be as involved in the process as they like, discussing graphic design, layout, and illustration on the visual end and accuracy of information, necessary diagrams, pertinent graphs, etc., on the science end.

I can also send examples of my work if desired.

    Thank you!

MICA is where all the skanky crackhead emo girls from my high school wound up.

I kind of miss them.

Whenever the wife and I go hang out in one the bars near MICA you see the crazy, slutty emo *****es all over the place.

It's sad, but the hipsters are actually starting to make me nostalgic for the emo kids.

My neighbourhood's ****ing infested with hipsters now.

I know. It's bizarre. I often get one or more of those in my threads and after many of my posts too. I suspect it's some sort of bot.

Back OT, you can always use this guy for logo designs. God knows how hard it is to come up with a new way to put a square and triangle together.

I'll take Artistic Descriptions of Scientific Work for 100, Alex.

Shortly before leaving my school for my internship, I saw a flyer posted at the medical school for an exhibition of painting of cells and bio-**** done in the styles of Van Gough, Picasso, and such. So the topic is not that unusual, but that can be a bad thing in the artistic world where pretty much everything has been done. Artistic descriptions of scientific work seems to me to be something that would quickly fall into pop art (the kind of stuff mass produced for waiting rooms and lobbies). The example on the flyer certainly fit the bill, but it was by an medical student who was a hobbyist. Still, I'd have a hard time seeing a respectable thesis come from such a study, unless there is more to it than he has described in the email.

I actually think that using art/etc in depictions of scientific work might be a way to get some part of the public more interested in the scientific work.

For some reason I don't seem to be around hipsters that often. Maybe I Am just blind.

Are the emo artist people hot?
