I've been on a self improvement kick lately as I alluded to in the overweight thread. In that same vein, I'd like to improve my mental capacity as well. What I'm asking for is two-fold:
The first thing is to improve my logic and reasoning skills. So I'm looking for websites with games that improve overall logic and reasoning skills. And perhaps games that can delay onset of Alzheimer's (which does run in my mother's side of the family) by "exercising" the brain.
A second thing I'd like to do is regain lost knowledge. I know I can't know everything. But the other day I was looking something up for someone at work to explain to them a scientific process. And was dismayed I forgot all about Charles and Boyle's laws. This was one of my best subjects in school, and I'm dismayed not to know this stuff anymore. I couldn't even remember what partial pressure was. And even when I was subtracting numbers the other day by hand, I had a little bit of trouble. That stuff scares me. . math was always my best subject (followed by chemistry mentioned above). So are there any websites where I can find this stuff? I'd like to find something where I can find like a chemistry textbook online- for free of course. I have no desire to pay for something that was free to me at one time.
Or should I just give up and admit I'm growing old and just drown my brain in alcohol?
