  • Two Spaces or One?

Do use two spaces after a period, when typing, or one?

I've always been taught to do two. However, some people use one, and this gets real annoying when you are working on a report together.

I used to use two. However, since grad school, where most of my papers have page limits, I have switched to one to conserve some space.

I've always been taught to use one everywhere. Even bloody MS Word asks, "do you want me to remove that extra space you put there by mistake?".

Two spaces after the punctuation at the end of a sentence. Anything else is just texting crap. (u nob)

I usually put one. Work style says use two, but I don't see the point when work style also wants text to be justified.

          Ultimately, I don't care.

Putting two spaces after a period is a relic from the days of typewriters and is no longer the norm in today's writing styles.

1 space.Really we shouldn't use any,as the extra space wastes paper.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

But size matters. We can easily have the biggest...words that way.

                            Technically, either is acceptable.

But if you're getting paid for your writing (trade journals, magazines, Web, etc.), the universal standard is one space.
