Being gay is not any more of a choice than being of the Jewish ethnicity, but it is certainly less of a choice than practicing Judaism.

It has been shown in the past that there is indeed, homosexual behavior among other animals in nature.

You can choose who you have sex with - a closeted, self-loathing gay man can marry a woman for instance and carry out having boring sex with her. But no one can choose one's sexual orientation.

The ex-gay therapy groups offered today are an equivalent of other so-called "medical" or pyschological quackeries that existed in nineteenth century (selling fake medicines that cured everything, etc.). It's nothing but a cruel fraud to prop up ex-gays as "successes."
