Patronizing only businesses owned by people of a certain race.
Really? Huh? <-- sincere confusion this time
Do you mean the individual restaurants, or the franchise as a whole?
edit: you must mean the former, because McDonald's has a stock ticker.
I don't go to bars, and I think most of the restaurants I go to are part of some sort of franchise.
a) I bet that a lot fewer (as a percent) publicly traded companies are majority black owned than are non-publicly traded companies
b) You'd be sorely mistaken. I've made purchases from at least 6 different black-owned businesses in the last month (that I know of for sure).
I was excluding traded companies because their ownership is harder to classify. I agree with your intuition on the percentage rates but I feel the numbers are probably 0% and maybe 3%.
b) Then you're a good man and you live in an enlightened area. On second thought I think I've made one such purchase.
McDonald's is apparently 85% franchised in the US, BK is 90%, Wendy's is 77% globally
Global franchising figures tend to be lower as they include a lot of less-developed markets for the product (the corp is trying to build the brand in order to gain franchise fees down the road).
If I want to buy Korean, I generally just go to Korea and then buy anything.
Anything at all.
If I want to buy Chinese, I just go to Walmart.

"Capitalism ho!"
No black people live on my block that I'm aware of, however. No hispanics either. We do have one Asian a few doors down from me.
At least that's finally changed. Over the past decade my street has gone from being 100% white to about a third black. Also there's dozens of local businesses here. I'm not going to waste any time counting them.

Have you tried with some burning crosses and wearing white hoods while you gather around those ? I guess that even being asian, he'll get the message.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
