  • I call a meeting of the Supreme Soviet!

    Prolog:
Following the Great "War to End All Wars" the world faced a new
century of dangerous challenge. Victor and vanquished alike left
Versailles bankrupt and impoverished. A vengeful Germany and her
neighbors create a new "Axis" alliance. Russia is consumed in a
revolution that threatens to spread around the world. Britain
struggles to maintain the Empire, while Japan seeks to forge a new
one. The effectiveness of the newly created League of Nations is
threatened when the United States seeks to return to isolationism.
Meanwhile, new technologies promise weapons of unparalleled power.
Can you lead your nation through the malestrom of the 20th Century?

[I will try my very best to play this civ2 scenario according to the decisions of the "Supreme Soviet"= OT posters of apolyton. But if I feel like it I might go a bit Stalin and just do what I want ]

    The Scenario:
    20thcent.zip

    *******

I Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars Heracommie call a meeting of the supreme Soviet to decide the course of action our nation will take in the wake of the suden death of our great leader Lenin and our great victory in the civil war!

I ask all party members to voice their opinions on the future course of the USSR!

[Post in character, you can be humorus, but please mark all OCC comments as OCC, this is a roleplaying effort.]

Current issues that requrie your vote and opinion comrade:

    1. The "2 options" on foreign relations
    A) Socialism in one country.
    B) Invade a imperialist power and help local Communists gain power (which one)

    2. List of minor but important decisions:
    A. The people of Odessa and Moscow are rioting, how should we deal with this?!
    B. We have a budget deficit of 112 gpt (our Taxes are set at 70% and our Science at 30%)
    C. Production priorities in cities and the destinations of our Salt and Oil trade caravans.

    3. Jonislavs proposal (set luxury to 20%)
    - Passed on the authority of the glorius leader Heracommie!

    4. Heracommies New Economic Proposal (Yes/No)

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

The Democratic League of the West demands that the evil Russian communist/imperialists withdraw to the borders of 1500 and stop attempting to subjectate their neighbors!

As I see it we have 2 options:

        A) Socialism in one country.
        B) Invade a imperialist power and help local Communists gain power

Which should we choose and more imporantly which imperialist power to target?

        The Great powers:

        The Axis

        The United States of America

        Empire of Japan

        Chinese nationalists

        The British Empire

        and the League of nations.

Retreat, retreat, retreat! Let the fascist pigs peril in the horror of guerilla warfare in the west. Muster your forces behind the Ural and send a massive force from your newly industrialized cities of Novosibirsk et.al.!

Also, secretly plot to shoot down the presidential airplane to lure the US into the war.

PS: We are talking WWII here, right?
EDIT: hmm the booze is getting onto me i'm afraid

I Jonislav, a humble farmer, demand that the New Commissars come and look upon the terrible sufferrings of the ordinary citizens!

Where are you promises to free us from tyranny now?

Are not just yapping lap-dogs to the old Imperialists yourselves?

[OCC:The date is an alternative 1920. The main diffrence are:

              1. Lenin is dead, long live Heracommie!

              2. Hitler somehow got power in germany in the late 1920's and a reactionary Axis has formed.

              3. The League of Nations is a semi-effective coalition and lead primarily by France ]

Surley you must understand the road to true Communism is a long one! Comrade we have just recently won a civil war which has cost us much. The tale of your family is hearth touching but I ask what can the state do about it? Should we spend money on social programs? Should we educate our people and build infrastructure? And more importantly how should we get the capital nessecary?

Economic growth through centrally planned development? Trade with the dirty capitalists? Or should we start a world revolution and use the Red Army to force the Bankers in London, Paris and New York to give back to the people some of the wealth they have stolen?

Also would you deny that significant improvement has not occured already?

You talk of Salt and Oil and expect our toil!

70% Tax and 30% Science? Where is the 20% Luxuries you promised that would turn the Motherland into paradise? I predict a riot!

Dually. Dully means dull as in "that knife is dull" where as dually means "in due course" and is used in such phrases as "it has been dually noted". Of course "duel" means two men fighting in single combat as in "I challenge you to a duel".
