She might not have been the proximate cause of the cop's death, but this incident should serve to remind people that making false emergency calls is DANGEROUS.

The original police respondent was proceeding at high speed to what he thought was a genuine emergency in which a girl's life was in danger. While it's simple bad luck that it was THIS call which ended up with a cop dead, she is still responsible for having forced the cop to place himself at risk when there was no need.

Emergency responses to 911 calls are a serious business. I can't find the statistics specific to emergency response, but as I recall more cops die due to vehicular accidents in the US than due to any other cause.

A high-speed police response not only endangers the policeman responding to the call; it also endangers everybody else on the road. Making frivolous and misleading 911 calls is no ****ing joke.

I can only imagine how I would feel if my wife died in an accident with a police car speeding to respond to a fraudulent 911 call made by some petulant little *****.

          Agreed.

The girl has serious psychiatric problems, and needs to be treated accordingly, but also needs to face up to the consequences of her decisions.

Dis, my parents are looking to move to LV, any suggestions?
I'd need a little more info than that.

Are they retiring or planning on finding work. Finding work is very, very, very difficult right now. Did I mention its difficult?

As for where to live... Well the safest places will be a retirement communities (55+) or gated communities. I dislike gated communities and homeowners associations, however. But they probably are the safest. The safest areas are the west side, southwest, northwest, and henderson/green valley (not the older areas) areas. I'd recommend a place near where I work- we could use the business LOL. So I'm biased in that regard. Our place is slow right now . My business is in the very north part of the valley. We haev a nice retirement community up there- reasonable prices, nothing too fancy. But its safe.

My father is retired. . .but he'll still be looking for work (unlikely he'll find anything though). He used to work in hotels and casinos, so he likes Vegas for that and the weather. He's hoping to take advantage of the low real estate prices as well.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
