I would use ignore list more but most people I'm tempted to put on it say something useful/entertaining often enough that I don't.

I delete Ming's PMs without reading. It's like having him on ignore.
I find that putting people on ignore improves my experience. And I get a visceral pleasure in NOT clicking on the button to read what they wrote in response to me. It's like a total eff you, given that they spent some time on it.Comment
