Are there even 16 people who post at this forum anymore?

I go through phases. Currently I have nobody on ignore. I have had up to a few hundred on ignore (after I wrote a script which sent an ignore request to the server every few seconds)

Note: mine is the only post in this thread I can read.

It's easier when you're used to solitude, I presume.

Nice try, Kuci. You get too much of a hardon from talking to me to put me on ignore for very long...

I tried ignore once, but my curiosity kept getting the better of me.

I tried using Ignore once a few years ago, but I found its implementation more annoying than the poster himself. When I started seeing posts quoted, I realized the feature was useless and turned it off.

But while I don't use Ignore, Poly uses it for me. I have about a dozen people I've never heard of currently on Ignore, apparently a legacy from some exploit in early vB. No idea when it happened; all the names were old registrations with few or no posts. I noticed it after the recent upgrade. There's a thread about this somewhere in Poly Community.

I think Ming was the only person I had on ignore for a significant amount of time. Thanks again for that, KH.

I put people on ignore. Not necessarily because I don't like them personally, but because their style is not what I personally come to Apolyton for. The mods don't stop them, and it's not in my place or power to, so I just put down a wall and everybody's happier.

I understand that Poly is a place of free speech. This does not correlate to placing an affirmative duty on each user to read what others have to say. I appreciate that Poly has relaxed rules about speech, and also gives its users the right to filter out what they want to read. It strikes me as a happy balance of choice.

This works both ways, too. I'm not offended if people put me on ignore, and would heartily recommend it, if what I write is not to their liking.

A few years ago I also got tricked into putting a load of people on Ignore that I hadn't even heard from. Like another poster said, they were mostly old or inactive accounts anyway.

I don't have anyone on ignore. I Think I have only had people on ignore by accident.

I don't have anyone on ignore now. IIRC, I've only used it once, and I obviously didn't stick with it.
