Well, KH, that wasnt the first time (with or without you involved). And i do indeed think that anyone´s point has to taken into consideration, no matter how strange it sounds at first - if only to find out, how that person derived to such a ´funny´ conclusion. And even if i am utterly unable to follow a line of thought, i regard it more as my own inability to understand in most cases, rather than someone being ´retarded´ or such - and i think that such humilty would serve discussions well, in RL as well as on poly.

The only thing i regard as being universally and utterly wrong in a discussion, is personal insults, threats and calling for violence against one or a group of persons (illegal and sexual stuff i just wouldnt discuss here, since this is meant to be a family site, but that´s another story). If you´d claim, the sky was brighter at midnight, than at noon, i´d rather ask you, how you come up with such an idea, than to call you names. For in fact, even this might be a reasonable claim, given the right explaination (for example midnight at a specific place and overall brightness of the sky, globally - more stars visible in one hemisphere than the other or whatnot - i constructed this example ad hoc - so it´s probably not the best, but it should do to demonstrate the point, i am trying to make).

EDIT (sorry if X-edit will occur): I, for once, can always save myself from ´destruction´ (grunt-grunt) by retreat. It´s not like any of you mean anything to me as a person - so i will be able to cope with the loss. I value the expertise of some (though, unfortunately, often it is coupled with an unbearable attitude here) and the funnyness of others. Some could really teach people a lot here - some are good for just entertainment. It´s not like being creamed in a discussion here makes me cry - it´s more like the attitude sometimes displayed here, brings me actually quite close to it (not because i was hurt, more out of pity).

This is the main problem here -- there's a lot of caustic personalities here, like in life. Pretending they don't exist doesn't help anyone, nor does trying to force them to be passive aggressive (but socially acceptable) ******. A lot of us have been here far too many years to tolerate this "be nice when talking to strangers" type of routine some people insist on. Such conversations are seldom truly honest, and most of the time the overhead of socially correct protocol is simultaneously spammy and grating.

Take you, for instance. The only thing people here seem to remember of you is how you incessantly whine in threads about how people need to be nicer and "teach/learn" something. The ***** of this all is I don't recall you teaching or learning from anything, but the same cannot be said about KH?
