Ordinarily I'd not give a **** about this, but I'm keeping a closer eye on this. My SO's had a swollen throat and bad cough for about two weeks. Been to several docs several times. First he was told it was pneumonia and got chest x-rays (which were negative), then bronchitis, and now he has been told it's allergies (which is utter nonsense).

But I'm sure it's not this, really.

Fortunately, we live in Canada. He's uninsured but still not paying for health care.

I'm more scared of Docfeelgood's avatar than the swine flu.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I had a bit of a fever last night, but now my sore throat is feeling lots better. Didn't even make it to the coughs... I've had worse from allergies... What a wimpy man/bird/pig flu

                            saturday night - killed 68
                            Sunday evening - 81
                            Monday morning - 103

so far it is not an exponential rise in number of deaths... but I guess it's early days... if it continues will be interesting to watch to see how it develops towards the end of the week...

Keep a watch out for fever above 101f .Just before common symptoms take effect there will be a copious thin, watery nasal discharge.
                                Take care.
