Rail Baron - must have 4 players; 5 or 6 is better (BTW, decent online version is free)
Could you please direct me to the online version? My googling fails.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
All about Rail Baron computer and board games (old site, with links to new)
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Ah, I see that I misunderstood this -- I visited that site. It's an install and then you play online.
Thanks!
I still like to play the pirated knock-off of Axis and Allies online from time to time. Usually up for a game. If anyone's interested in a game or two, just drop me a line.

Axis and Allies (the new editions are better than the older editions, the ones like Pacific/etc suck though)
Pacific was good; very well-balanced. Europe kind of sucked, however, as every game came down to a massive German stack vs a massive Russian stack.
I didn't actually play Pacific.
I think I own Europe played it once.

Russian Campaign by Avalon Hill almost got me failed out of uni I played it so much. So simple and yet so difficult. The best I've played.
Based on your recommendation (years ago), it has been on my buy on sight list.
I still don't own it.

I have a [Talisman] second edition from the eighties, when I used to play it a lot - lost the original but replaced it soon after.
Drool. It's such a great party game. The rules can be explained in just a minute or two. If someone wants to leave in the middle of the game, it's no biggie. If someone wants to join late in the game, they still have a chance to win.
And I really like the cover on the 2nd Edition box.
