      (1) Is there an attempt to produce 'pro-liberal' propaganda or information in Afghanistan? Is it successful?
      (2) Do the coalition forces disseminate any other kinds of propaganda? How are they succeeding?
      (3) The Taliban and propaganda--same deal.
      (4) Whatchoo up to there? You're Australian right? Working for DFAT? What are some roles you've taken on for them that you could describe for me in general terms? I'm thinking of working for DFAT after Uni...
      Many thanks.

Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

Hey, Horse. Nice to see you! Glad you could get home to see the fam.

How much are the Taliban foot soldiers getting paid? How much are the foot soldiers on our side getting paid? Is more than a reasonable amount getting siphoned off by the powers-that-be such that we have to go outside the government to pay our foot soldiers? Who is paying the wages of the Taliban foot soldiers?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Kabul shall soon be ruled by Polytubbies.

It's good to see the Horse back here in his Aponyton stable.
Thanks - polytubbies couldn't do any worse than the current regime.
