  • Stuff, get rid of it!

It's amazing how much stuff builds up on our closets over the years. In preparation for my move to the Philippines, three times in the last two days, I have filled up the truck of my car with clothes I haven't worn for at least a year and took them down to the Goodwill.

They are more than greatful. Hard times are upon us. Charities like Good Will are desparate for clothes, old computers, computer games, books, appliances, dishes, lamps, etc.; anything that they can sell.

So Polytubbies, it's time to do some Spring cleaning. Duck into those dusty closets of yours and dig out "stuff" that you can give to charities who can help the ever-growing legions of the less fortunate.

Hide it among the others. Then run like heck before they find it.

Did a lot of this myself, as I'm moving this week.

        Tons of donated stuff...

          Downsizing is very satisfying...

My prob is that I have a giant basement and garage that tend to mitigate my ability to get rid of 'stuff'...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

I rarely bought extra stuff. I bought clothes that ... uh shrank. Yeah, that's right. And computers and games that got old. And books that I wanted to read, read, and don't want to read again. You know -- "stuff." Then I put it away in case I lot weight or wanted to use the stuff again. I never did. So now, off it goes to the Good Will.

I don't need it. Other folks do. And it costs me nothing to help them out.

ya I don't buy extra stuff, but still it accumulates. Some stuff seemed important at the times. Like a few hundred music cd's. Most of it I still like, and they didn't have free music back in those days...

I wish I could get rid of my stuff, but I'm part pack rat.

                    I guess I should.

I'll be moving this July and I'll once again have to go through my closet and figure out how much of my old gaming crap I still need. Anyone want two poorly painted Warhammer 40k armies?

That and Birth of a Federation are worshipped as cult relics. If I were you I'd list it on Ebay.

I have four garden sized garbage bags of cloths in my closet waiting to go, I just never seem to actual make it there even though I drive by it at least once a week. You have inspired my to finally make the trip Z

I wish I could get rid of my stuff, but I'm part pack rat.
As am I, I can't seem to part with anything that isn't actually broken. The only thing that breaks the habit is when I have no room for new stuff.

On a related note. A friend offered to sell a cheap handgun my aunt left me in her will. This is the ad he posted an hour ago:

                          The Pistol:

8 shot double action .22 Liberty revolver. Black with white plastic grips. Look it up on the internet.

                          The price:

                          $50. Yes that's fifty dollars.

                          The truth:

This is a cheap piece of poo. When it breaks I doubt you will find the parts to fix it.

Frankly I think it's over priced especially when you add in the FFL, DROS, shipping if req'd. etc.

I'd happily trade it for a pair of tennis shoes if the PD here was having a gun buyback program.

Since you'd have to be crazy to buy this hunk of junk I feel you should read the warning below twice.

                          Warning:

                          NO WARRANTY! expressed or implied.

You agree by buying this piece of junk that it is unreliable and you promise not to shoot it until a real gunsmith tells you it is safe to do so.

Here's the sad part. This is not an April Fools joke. I actually own this thing and want rid of it.
He's already gotten legit 3 offers to buy, plus one offer to trade him a pair of tennis shoes and another offer to kick him in the nuts.

Blame Bunnygrrl. My fiancée and I are both pack rats but every so often she makes me go through a cleaning (ie, throwing out) frenzy with her... works well (except for the garbageman, who's not paid by the bag)
