Apparently, those two seats are rear-facing rather than inward-facing. Apparently, it's like the Volvos and Audis have done it.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Aren't rear-facing trunk seats illegal today?

Dunno, Asher. Don't think it's illegal in the US.

I seem to recall they were, for safety reasons...at least in Canada.

But I can't find anything on google about it, so maybe not.

Trunks are usually designed as crumple zones.

Hell, my parents old '82 Chevy station wagon had rear seats like that. Not exactly (they folded down instead of being removable) but close.

It was a big piece of **** like this:

Apparently, they're setting it up to compete in the same class as the BMW 5 Series. But the Model S has more power than all but one of the 5 Series V8-engine models (that gets something like 20 miles per gallon).

Yep anyone who got in on the ground floor of this is going to be filthy rich in about 20 years. Look at Oil its back up to 50 bucks while the global economy is still in the toilet it will go back to a hundred dollar floor if we even start to SEE a light at the end of the tunnel. I think Tesla will establish a very Apple like niche making a very expensive high performance cutting edge car and will either have a ludicrously hyped IPO and/or a multi-Billion buyout from a major Automaker, probably a Japanese one. The Tesla name will be popular enough to warrant keep it around as a line of premium all electrics within what ever company acquires it.

From most equity investors' perspective, a car company isn't a good investment at all. I doubt it would make sense for any Poly member.

That said, you can help push the technology forward by buying the car.

Let's just say that I am happy with my investment. Looking to do a bit of profit taking maybe tomorrow or Tues, and the SP invariably slips back a little after each announcement of good news...

Personally I think we're already starting to see signs of a revival in the global economy, despite the best efforts of the banking sector...

As an investor I'm going to have to disagree with you. The American car companies have stocks that are extremely cheap right now. You can take a risk and hope that they don't go bankrupt and have the stock take off when the news becomes good.
