Not really. Extra salary would be meted out throughout the year, where a bonus is paid out once, typically at the beginning of the calendar year. It's not taxed any differently in Canada per se, although the amount that is withheld from your paycheques is based upon your salary amount, not your salary + bonus. I think it may be subject to different withholding requirements, but I'm pretty sure a bonus is actually taxed just like other ordinary income (at least federally), considering that it's generally compensation for services.Originally posted by Arrian View PostSolomwi is very wise. - Imran SiddiquiComment
