No it doesn't. I'm probably earning more not working at McDonald's than working at McDonald's. And with the new stimulus package, I'm getting an extra $25 a week for not having anything.

Well, I am doing something. I am required to look for work, but I'm not required to accept a position below 80% of what I made at my last job. Course, 75% of what I made at my last job would be still be about 4 times what I'm getting now, so it's not like I'm turning my nose up at any offers.

This is hilarious. The English major can't find work after several years except serving pizzas. Cliche on Aisle 7.

Er, good for you - I suppose...

Whatever floats your boat and all that.

BTW, about the most fun I had at any job was an 18 month stint working for a Cafe/Bar/Restaurant in New Zealand - so it may be a **** job, but hopefully you'll have fun doing it.

The job itself doesn't excite me, it's finally starting to escape the Loser Zone I've been stuck in for so long. I am starting to get my **** together! Hooray!

Well, whatever Che says, it is far better to actually be working than not - rung on the ladder, showing drive, transferable skills, and all that...

So good luck to all of that.

If you can deliver a pie to the Philippines I'll help you get your **** together.

Cheese pie toasted (cheese slightly browned on top) with a little bit of extra oregano.

Also while you're at it have em whip me up a sicilian with extra everything.

You get free pizza for your lunch?

Only internet forums. I can use my imagination, thank you very much.

Today I went in for TIPS training, where they taught us that a person with slurred speech, poor coordination and a loud voice may have had too much to drink and should be told, in a polite but firm manner, that s/he is not getting any more booze. Never been formally employed before, but I like this "paid training" stuff. Free lunch and everything! Whee!

Also, I was one of only four participants (and the only grunt--the other three were all managers), and one of us has to be on the premises at all times if we're to serve alcohol. So I guess that's sort of like job security; I'll be a real hassle to replace.

                              anyways, grats on the job.

since no one asked, I'll do it. Does your place make 48" pizzas?

Not a chance. It's a little place, I doubt whether a 48" pizza would even fit in the oven. And if it did, it'd never come out that narrow door intact.
