Agent-land? In her backstory, she was a gun-runner in Northern Ireland.

Firefly was great until Joss ****ed it up in Serenity, I'm still miffed he
            Spoiler:
killed off Wash the way he did,
it was totally uncalled for and served no purpose whatsoever.
            And without Mr. T.

As for Serenity, Joss said on the voice-over on the dvd that he:
            Spoiler:
wanted the audience to think that it was possible that all the crew could die.

I can see the point but I don't think he pulled it off.
            Spoiler:
For a lot of the rest of the movie I was in a state of: omg, he killed Wash

I'm not certain what happened to it but they were planning on making a Firefly massive multiplayer online game.

Gun-runners are in Agentland, where people get violent and get physical in the blink of an eye. Maintaining or breaking a grip, striking a blow, suffering a little blood loss and driving on all require robustness and body mass. The girl doesn't have any of that. In a world where everyone may be a professional killer, fire and drive won't get you very far, everyone has fire, drive, cool nerves, and a cold view of the world. She looks too small, that's all.

Why did Wheedon decided to go with FOX, after they didn't give Firefly the time it needed to build a base? FOX is a terrible network. If you don't build an immediate following, you get the axe. X Files would never have made it with the current policy.

I was watching the bonus DVD features and it said Wheedon was on contract with FOX and they wanted to get one more series out of him before his contract expired. They said FOX really didn't like the series from the get go and demanded a whole bunch of changes even after they'd seen the trailer so they were never really on board. I agree with you though the series got a cult following even with just half a season so if they'd stuck with it then Firefly really could have been the next Star Trek. It's a shame the movie sucked so bad.

Dollhouse plots remind me of crappy Lifetime movies.

FOX is an interesting network. On one hand, one has to give them credit for greenlighting some interesting shows. No other network would have ok'ed all these shows. But FOX also tends to cancel them fairly quick. Then again, a bunch of them sucked hard in ratings.

I mean it is better for someone to put a show on FOX, and get the ratings and cult following, than to have it run for 3-4 seasons on CW or something. A few break out into the mainstream consciousness from CW (Buffy, Gossip Girl), but not all that many.
