If it's less than 10 years old and made by a respectable company, there's a high probability you can go on-line and find the user manual which will cover any installation issues.

Is your time worth nothing? Why do people **** around with self-home improvement when their old stuff worked just fine? What a colossal waste of time.

because it was an improvement. A machine that probably cleans better due to increased location and quantity of nozzles. Also newer machines will generally be more efficient in terms of electrical use. Besides, i like replacing my kichen applicances prior to their failing, so I can look for sales and timing of the installation.

Why do people play newer video games when the older ones worked just fine?

The benefits do not outweigh the effort or end result here...

I should point out that about a month after installing this dishwasher we ended up buying a whole new one because my lady friend didn't like how this one had a white finish while our fridge has a stainless steel finish. Then in April we got a new electric stove & hood so now all the appliances in the kitchen match. I honestly didn't care if the finish on the dishwasher matched the fridge or stove but women apparently do care about that sort of stuff; that said the sealed top stove is much easier to clean then the old open burner stove from the 80's we used to have.

So the moral of the story is that you wasted a lot of time dicking around with an old dishwasher when you could have just cut to the chase and bought a new one, like we said all along.

Wow, someone mentions a dishwasher and suddenly people bring up all kinds of threads.

I still would have bought the plastic flexible house and I learned about electrical wiring so it wasn't a complete waste of time but... Yeah... Mostly.

I can confirm that I am lazy and that I do try to rinse/load the dishes slowly hoping that if I wash them slowly enough or badly enough she will decide to just do them herself without my help.
