I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

I'm having problems imagining the pressure vessel. There's a reason why rockets tend to use turbopumps, after all.
Sounds like it is an amalgam of claims that individually are doable (or at least some of which are individually doable), but in tandem or in a group are not doable.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. Three modes:
Air Stations between one and three minutes depending on the vehicle:
The air is compressed in tanks at the air stations using a multi-stage compressor.
The stored compressed air is transferred from the air stations’ tanks to the vehicle’s tank).
The air compression in the station’s tanks can be performed by using renewable energies (rivers driving micro turbine connected to the compressors, wind etc…).
Electric plug between 1h 30 mins and 4h 30 mins depending on the vehicle:
When the vehicle is equipped with an onboard refilling system, the refilling of its tanks can be carried out by connecting them to a domestic electric plug.
The moto- alternator, (used when the vehicle is running to retrieve energy during braking and decelerations phases) drives the air engine operating in ‘compressor mode’ to recharge the tanks.
While running in the dual-energy mode:
When the vehicle is being driven by a dual-energy engine, the refilling of the tanks can be performed by sharing the energy.
While running (an energetic adjuvant’s combustion, see dual-energy above), the compressed air tanks are refilled using a booster.
The time needed to fill the tanks will in this case depend on the speed at which the vehicle is being driven, thus of the ‘surplus’ of the needed power that refills the tanks.
Depending on the refilling mode, 100 km downtown cost between € 0. 50 and 1.5 €.Last edited by Zkribbler; February 13, 2009, 17:48.

I am just thinking that if the idea is to get the most people possible buying these things for the oil scarcity/enviromental reasons and you already have to overcome the inertia of the gasoline norm and the increaed price of the things, why complicate the effort by making the cars look as unconventional as possible?
The Prius looks like an oversized RC car, and there is no need for it to look that way (I realize I am preaching to the chior, just venting )"The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.

The other company I looked at is Zero Pollution Motors. It was from its website that I got the 850-miles figure, and it is Zero Pollution that will be putting out the car next year. However, I can find nothing on its website about how rapidly the tanks can be refilled."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

This is the main UK company specialising in commercial EVs: Smith
The Case Studies section gives a breakdown of all the applications these vehicles are already capable of, and the sorts of companies that are already making use of them.
The vehicles are based on Ford chassis, and it is this company that Ford will be in partnership to roll out its commercial vehicles in the US next year - so watch this space.

Power grid distribution linky in easy to understand terms (at least for me, I'm an EE).
Electrical power is a little bit like the air you breathe: You don't really think about it until it is missing. There are good reasons the power grid distribution system works the way it does, though it can lead to some big problems.
I'm not sure how much current you can push through the house..edit, just found this....
The Main circuit breaker also identifies the amperage capacity of the electrical panel and will have a number on it identifying its amp capacity such as "100" or "150". 100 amp service is the minimum allowed by code today, with 150 amp being very common. Electrical panels are also available in 200 amp and 400 amp sizes.
BTW, in case you don't want to follow the linky above 240VAC is delivered to your house, however, if you were pulling 400A, I'd be more worried about the wires leading to your house. We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.
