As I've said before, you and Ben share a lot of the same traits. I don't mean to be insulting, but you both have an alarmingly high level of obliviousness...
While you seem to be a genuinely nice person, Ben is not. While you're both exceedingly polite on this site, what Ben says politely is deeply insulting to many people. On top of it, he shows no interest in being honest or reading what people write. For the final nail in his coffin, he goes the extra mile to slander and misrepresent the people he's talking with online. He really goes the whole 9 yards when it comes to being a ****.
Everyone on this site knows that I am heavily biased in favor of monogamy. And despite the fact that I am open about my thoughts on the matter, I don't go attack DF (or anyone else) over his choice to do differently.
My hope is that Ben will recognise that he is doing wrong, repent, and change. I hope for the best for him. But right now, whenever there is a possibility that we are on the same 'side' in a discussion, I go away... because discussing it will be no good with him in the discussion.

We held an intervention for my ******* middle brother a good six or seven years ago. We made him cry. It was great. He actually gave a **** about what we thought of him.
If my family had held an intervention for me it never would have worked because I don't particularly value their opinions.
Similarly, obiwan18, who is completely resistant to logic and doesn't really care for any of us in anything but a superficial manner, isn't going to be swayed by any sort of intervention, mean-spirited or otherwise.
Your best bet, if you really want to change the way he thinks, is to become his best friend. Then he'll actually start to respect and trust you. And years from now, when he is in a time of need and at his most vulnerable, you strike. Crush him and his pitiful beliefs. Make him wish he'd never heard of Jesus Christ.Click here if you're having trouble sleeping.

Well, I guess I don't really despise him myself. I just accept that he's always going to be here, being BK, and there's no point in trying to change that. Any such attempts will probably just reactivate his already well-worn "lone martyr" subroutine.

The Ignore feature works pretty well in isolated cases. It works even better if people do it to a broad degree. I have no problems with people posting here, even if I strongly disagree with them. I can think of no better response than for them to discover they're preaching to an empty congregation."lol internet" ~ AAHZ

I have a fundamental issue with using the ignore feature. It feels... wrong, somehow.
That said, I've been trying to disengage from the quagmire that is talking at Ben of late. It's kinda hard, though, like trying to withdraw from Iraq.B♭3

AC, my problem with Ben Kenobi is not that I strongly disagree with him on certain issues. For example, Slowwy and I have strong disagreements about the history of the American Civil War and even contemporary race issues but I still fiind him to be likeable on here.
Asher and others have already tried explaining what our source of our problems with BK is so I won't reiterate all of that.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

The problem is lack of respect. I have none for him. I can't think of any other poster here that I can say that about. Most of it comes from the lack of respect he shows others. (insulting my wife didn't help either)
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
