I'm starting to think that island is the bad guy. Jack's Dad's ghost's shadow seemed a bit menacing in that episode. Actually, there might be a power struggle among the ghosts too.

That's very true. Especially with the conflicting message that Charlotte gave before she died, about the island being a death trap and everything.
