Black Bantu Africans originate in West-Africa (Gulf of Guinea) and have stretched out eastwards relatively recently in history. They are probably very related with Kenyans.

Why would you not expect greater genetic diversity among Africans? Europeans, Asians, Australians and Native Americans are all descendants of a group that left Africa 70,000 years ago, so all of those groups only have 70,000 years of diversity. Humans have been living in Africa for 500,000+ years, so Africans have 500,000+ years of genetic diversity.
Most American slaves were taken from West Africa, so it's unlikely that Obama has any direct connections with the ancestors of African-Americans. The fact that his father was a Muslim offers the possibility that on his father's side he may have some Middle Eastern heritage, and since we know that honkies were all over the Middle East in ancient times Obama might have a distant Euro connection on his father's side as well as the obvious one on his mother's side"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!Comment

Like I said, Bantu Africans cleared the majority of existant populations in Africa. In West-Africa a few proto-states had even evolved by the time Europeans arrived.
