He looked a lot more presidential than McCain on the bailout/credit crunch. He seems to know when to take his shots. So maybe he will follow Drake's advice. He has not solved the poverty problems in the communities he represented. some things are intractable. He sees his job as more just saying the right things and looking good.

It is difficult to help those who will not help themselves. There is only so much you can do for those people. Some people don't seem to have pride as others do, and are just fine taking goverment handouts, and have no desire to learn how to work.Originally posted by TCO View PostHe looked a lot more presidential than McCain on the bailout/credit crunch. Reagan went on vacation post the election and wasn't even in Washington until after the Congress was sworn in. He had only "no opinion yet" for the press and his administration was very close hold about who would be doing what until he was sworn in.Originally posted by The Emperor Fabulous View PostI mean, as much as people love/hate Reagan, I feel he would have said/done something about this most recent and most serious Israel/Hamas situation before he became President.
So where the **** is Barack?
Barack, at the moment is a private citizen, despite his impending power. Also, most of you will recall how the Republicans tried to exploit the fact that the Hamas endorsed Obama, without his solicitation. So he's better off in terms of credibility in the Middle East, if Hamas' power is broken. No matter where you go, there you are. - Buckaroo Banzai
