I think that an average person in Michigan would understand the statement just fine.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
Other than me being the founder and President of my local, yeah, I guess you're right.
Ah, so you're just corrupt and trying to deploy the smoke and mirrors.
I don't know how you can defend what you see in this video unless you don't see a problem with it. The fact that you are president of your union, I can see why you see no problem with it.
to you.

The statement is nonsensical. A union leader job does not include drumming up business.
Why do I know so much more about unions than you do?
Most unions have some person (usually a "leadership" person) whose responsibility it is to ensure the union is well-employed. At Calgary Transit (our local transit authority), this position involves lobbying that the city must buy large fuel-inefficient busses for low-traffic routes when small shuttle busses make most sense (but whose drivers are not unionized).

Hey, if Ford has to come up with incentive programs to have its employees actually show up to work, obviously they aren't that overworked.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

By union standards, I'm sure they are.

Is that your version of "Bill Clinton did it too" that Republicans raised early in the W. Bush Administration?
