I do miss action movies. But in hindsight, they were kinda silly.
Arnie was my favourite. Commando was just full of cheesiness At the time I really thought a man could be strong enough to pull a seat out of a car LOL.
Nothing can beat the one liners in Predator. "stick around". "her ***** is as big as a house".
Sly and Chuck Norris were good too. But sly really only had Rambo. His other attempt was Cobra, and that film is horrible- even back then I didn't care for it too much.
Chuck Norris had Code of Silence- that was a badass film. I haven't seen it in ages, so it may be cheesy today.
I never got into the newer ones too much like Van Damme and that one dude (the fat white guy who's all spiritual and ****). The guy who did the anti oil movie. But it was something.
Now in the 21st century we have nothing. There are no real guy movies. Movie companies in their "greed" have made it so movies appeal to the widest possible audience. A pg-13 movie that also appeals to women
. So while there are "action sequences" there is no real hardcore violence. When I was a kid I used to look for the words "graphic violence" in a movie
. Seems you don't see that anymore unless it's a realistic war movie such as Saving Private Ryan.

Leaving Las Vegas -- one of the most boring, predictable movies I've ever seen. Terrible dialogue, unconvincing performances. It's actually the movie that convinced me that Cage is just not that talented. I remain absolutely mystified as to how it received critical acclaim. Pure hype, just utter crap. The only benefit was, it renewed my belief that critics are simply not to be trusted in these matters.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
RIP lest we forget... SG (2) and LaFayette -- Civ2 Succession Games Brothers-in-Arms

Nicholas Cage had a brief moment -- basically 1984-87, the period in which he made Racing with the Moon, Birdy, The Cotton Club and Raising Arizona -- when it looked like he was going to be interesting to watch.
But as Sean Penn (his Racing with the Moon co-star) said some years back: "Nic Cage is no longer an actor. He's more like a performer.""I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

Nick Cage was actually playing Randy "The Ram" Robinson in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming "The Wrestler", but dropped for unspecified reasons. Mickey Rourke took the part and has garnered critical acclaim and nominations - and he's going to give Sean Penn a run for his money for the Oscar."I predict your ignore will rival Ben's" - Ecofarm
