How does one go about dating women? Every girl I've ever mused my time with I came across by chance, such as friends of friends or in a bar etc.

You can. Doesn't hurt. You'll get rejected ~80% of the time. At least that's what I ran when I used to try it. But if you get over the fear of rejection it's the quickest way to get dates.

Of course, you also end up dating some stupid girls (because you don't get to find out ahead of time....or because only the stupid ones say yes).

Look, ~2/3 of 20-something women are in a relationship at any time. So your pool is cut by a factor of 3 (unless you're as awesome as I am and can get women to cheat on their boyfriends...but that's another story). So you have to get used to the idea that a lot of women will say no to you.

Just ask somebody else.
