    • If I had lived there in the last 3 years I would have picked a better place.

      It will do.

      • Nothing personal to anyone. This thread is clear evidence how hard this is to do, and I thank you all.

        • I have lived here my whole life, so I suppose you can all blame me if you like.

          • I have other suggestions, but a place was decided.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

            • I haven't heard back from Adam Smith, so maybe he doesn't want to hang with us rough lot.

But in the off, off chance that he is lurking, come join us, AS, we miss you. I promise to defend you from any psycho internet people.

Go ahead and make them, I was being sarcastic about 5 Guys and people took it at face value.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

                    • Yeah, we aren't changing it. We plan to go elsewhere later, people if you want to meet up with us write my number down for later.

Five Guys is just for the initial meetup and dinner.

I even love Giancarlo/Fez butfor some unknow reason, he and I literally didnt mesh

if he actually knew the real me, he would laugh and give me a hug, not be a playa hater

I mean, aside from teh evileness of rah's Ferret..which sometimes I have nightmares of him staring at me, causing me to go total fetal position and whimper out of fear, I would enjoy engaging all here in conversation and fellowship

                          • Troll, I can meet up towards the beginning of your DC visit. Let me know your mobility, location, etc. And if you want to have dinner, drinks, coffee. Avec spouse or sans. Either way, I'll be sociable.

We will be going other places later. Five Guys is a decent initial place because everyone agreed it was OK, and Kuci can come there.

I have a list of places to go to afterwards, which I will bring with me (with maps?).

The issue is that everyone had a problem with them for one reason or another.

                              JM
(Maybe not with the last places I mentioned, which are combo coffee-shops/bars, but still...)

                              • Agreed, Jon. Let's stay on plan.

Dan, you had your chance a while ago. Don't be a jerk now.

Oh...and you can't make everyone happy, so when you organize stuff like this, just pick something that makes you happy and that makes 50% of the crowd happy. Don't worry about optimizing more than that.
