I agree with rah - just change banks (you presumably changed when you moved, right? Or are you in one of those evil national banks?). Or use someone like USAA or Schwab or ING - an internet bank where you mail your stuff in (with free envelopes!) and get free atm withdrawls at any ATM (up to a certain cost/atm usually, but it's usually generous).
Also, the counter deposit form is to ensure the data is entered correctly - less chance of error if the teller verifies (in writing) both the name and the account number (double verification). Also leaves a written trail if you have questions about the deposit.
Yeah, I have changed banks from US Bank to Bank of America. One of reasons I chose BOA is because there is a branch that's a five minute walk from where I live. So on Saturdays when they're open and I'm not at work, I can stroll over to my bank and take care of business that I can't do online.
What is the reasoning behind so many banks' restrictive hours anyway? Rah's bank and the few others that are open later seem to be the exception to the stupid norm.

Imran, do you know how "well" the business world would function though, if every type of business allowed low-level employees to dictate what hours they would like to work?

What about when you have to give someone you know money for something, but its a bit more than the cash you usually have on hand (like say paying them back for concert tickets or something).
Paypal (seriously). Or bank transfer online. Or "bill pay" towards their creditcard.
I pay with my credit card for virtually everything. It's easier now than even with cash with the RFID stuff, just place my card on the pad and it's done...

Even when a business will always be in demand (what are you going to do if you don't have access to a bank, start robbing rich people?)

You do realize that bankers make a good deal of money, so keeping open the banks for a couple more hours a day won't exactly be all that cheap (because, of course, they'll ask for more money if they are required to work more hours).
Oh, and I guess this is where we see where Mr. Fun's friend of the working man ends... when it inconveniences him .

I'll establish a whole new bank chain of my own that truly is convenient and fully modernized.
I sure wish I had employers in the past, where I could tell them what hours I would work.
Starting in November, at least 800 TD branches will serve customers 62 hours a week or more and be open at 8 a.m. Monday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Additionally, more than 900 branches will now be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

My cash deposits are very very very rare and usually small.
Who doesn't pay electronically now? You guys are ancient. Move up to the 21st century.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I write 12 checks a year: rent every month (I don't do it electronically because I don't always pay the same amount every month depending on GF and I's finances).

Bankers may. Tellers certainly don't ...

I pay rent online.
I don't even get paper bills either...
Paystubs are online, too.
