A lot of people have an irrational hatred of Clinton. (See Blood Sport by David Stewart.)
It was the opposite with Nixon. He had an irrlational hatred of a lot of people. He kept lists of his "enemies." The White House dispatched teams of burglars to dig up dirt on Nixon's enemies. He was a scary guy.
