I've watched a lot of debates and participated in many. I love debate and was trained as a boy in the British system to be a debater. I debated dozens of times at Oxofrd. All I can say is that, simply on terms of substance, clarity, empathy, style and authority, this has not just been an Obama victory. It has been a wipe-out.It has been about as big a wipe-out as I can remember in a presidential debate. It reminds me of the 1992 Clinton-Perot-Bush debate. I don't really see how the McCain campaign survives this.

I'm sure what he saw, to be honest. He is a smart guy. But regardless, McCain needed a big win tonight, and I certainly don't think he got it.
WTF?! Sullivan has been in the can for Obama all election, but this is drinking the kool-aide big time.

It was another draw... that definitely doesn't help McCain any though.

        • Hmm... the CNN latest polls map looks even uglier from McCain than the NY Times map.

I will consider doing exactly that in exactly 29 days' time. But no sooner.

As long as Obama didn't say "Where the White women at" he was going to win this election.

Underestimate the Democrats' ability at snatching defeat from jaws of victory, you do.

                  • It looks like the McCain campaign is going to rely on their attack ads to make their case against Obama. They played it awfully safe tonight considering the polls.
