    Not particularly. Found it garish.

    Didnt like the topic?
I love ancient and classical history, but this movie wasn't about history, so that isn't relevant. I can probably like any topic if it's done well.

    Didnt like the message?
    There was a message?

    Didnt like the fighting/blood-gore?
I'm not bothered by graphic violence/gore if its handled well as part of the plot. I didn't find the fight scenes particularly compelling in 300, but the violence certainly didn't bother me.

The acting was **** but it wasnt brilliant in Blade Runner either which I think 300 compares well with.
Bad acting can be tolerated if all else is good, yes. But that wasn't the case here.

I didn't enjoy the movie because it thought itself way too cool. There was a ridiculous self-importance in it, a sense that it was convinced of its own awesomeness. I find that grating. The constant slow motion shots got old real quick and became laughably predictable. The dialogue was awful, on a par with James Cameron's dreck. A lot of the "plot" just didn't make any damn sense. Frankly, I was bored through most of the film.

If you enjoyed it, I'm happy for you that you found something to enjoy. Don't consider my not liking it a critique of your taste.

Sin City was a very good movie as well.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Uh, the movie is not a history, it is from a dramtized and stylized comic book/graphic novel.

It was fun, but I don't know about good. Frank Miller's dialogue was...

I was reminded quite strongly of Wad of Gore. Same general setting, same macho knucklehead sensibilities, same comically over-the-top violence and gratuitous sex. Even the aesthetic was similar.

With a review like that, how can I restrain myself from watching the movie?

I understand you Mrs Snuggles. But you know: she has stuffed lips and big tits which is good enough for 75% of the male pop.
