  • It wasn't just one interview. It was every interview. And the fact that she's extremely limited in the amount of interviews she gives is also telling.

Keep reciting the television line, you know it can't compete with Palin.

No, no. You pretend that she knows enough to know that people disagree on what it is. She knows nothing about it, period.

But Biden at least says stuff. She says a lot of **** without actually saying anything. Which is why she'll probably "win" the debate tonight. Its tailor-made for her.

        • Tonight's the night.

Palin will either shine or self destruct...or somewhere in between. Let us wait and see.

          • When you speak as often as Biden, you're bound to say stupid ****. You get Obama and McCain doing the same thing, because they have to deal with questions on a regular basis. What's remarkable is that nearly everything that Palin says when questioned indicates serious ignorance or an awful ability to communicate her thoughts. How many frighteningly absurd soundbytes do we have from a grand total of two (which is all the McCain camp has trusted her with) fairly softball interviews?

What was beautiful about the Roe questions is that Biden was asked exactly the same questions by Couric, and had cogent, reasonable answers.

            • The Palin discussion is important because McCain has a 1-in-3 chance of dying in office, according to actuarial tables. And that doesn't even take his melanoma history into account.

I'm hoping she doesn't flub it and/or Joe says something stupid or racist as he is known to do from time to time. If she can come off as being literate which will be a change from the Couric interview, hopefully it might stem the bleeding the campaign has gone through recently.

McCain has a history of malignant melanoma? Uh, maybe I should be embarrassed that I didn't know that, but that's a big deal. How long ago was it removed.

It's definitely a gaffe, but the major fundamental difference that you refuse to acknowledge is it doesn't have any direct implications on his capacity to lead your country.

Compare this to Palin, who can't name a single source for her news, can't name anything other than Roe V. Wade for a supreme court decision, nonsensically lists obvious talking points as an answer to an unrelated question, etc.

All speakers make gaffes. That's not the problem. The problem is Palin is very obviously very ignorant, and perhaps very stupid. That's a huge difference between someone who just talks too much without a good filter.

                          • Ok, this is in no way meant as a defense of PALIN, but I think it's a character flaw that makes a person who loves to hear the sound of his voice so much that he just keeps talking until he's got both feet firmly implanted. So Yes, I do think that it is a negative trait that I don't want my president to have. It impacts on his leadership skills.

And while Obama is young and not likely to die in office from natural causes, there's enough bigots mouthing off that the posibility of assisnation would have to be considered higher than the norm. Of course not as high if Hillary had gotten elected.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple
