temping is good. I've done it before. It takes very little to excel at it, compared to your peers.

x-mas means holiday hires at places you probably don't want to work, but at least can get an income. Work the overnight stocking shift at best buy or something like that. in your free time volunteer some place.

Have you considered applying for paralegal positions? Not as female dominate as you would think, and can pay quite nicely and lead to better opportunities.

    hang in there guys

Basically, instead of chronologically listing what you have done, you break up the resume into skill areas (like communication skills, administrative skills, whatever) and then you put down what you have done that fits into those skills - this way you can try to emphasize talents or projects you have worked on in non-professional settings, like if you were part of any organizations or clubs in college, or part time or summer work and such. For someone without much professional history, this is helpful.

I did find Careerbuilder better than Monster, though both will send you annoying e-mails. But hell, it only takes minutes to get rid of spam.

You could do some volunteer work for an NGO or somesuch and get to know a few people here and there. Very often they have contacts all over the place and can help you get a full-time job.

Good idea. I could always volunteer at one of the campaign headquarters here to make contacts. Assuming they are still accepting new blood and don't mind an independent hanging around telling them how much they all suck and support the antithesis of democracy.

Or I could go spoon out soup for homeless people, something that actually makes a difference in this country.

I'm sitting here chugging down the remainder of my wine, talking on a web forum about the difficulty of finding a job. I was just about to rant about pandora playing nickleback way too ****ing much even though I've told it on multiple occasions to stfu with that crap. I'm a spoiled, whiny, little ***** who has life a hell of a lot easier than 95% of the world's population.

I know that in the future I will die of a medical condition, heart disease or an aneurysm most likely. There are people out there worrying about how they are going to survive tomorrow, some of them are probably less than a block from me right now. Chances are most of them will die of a bullet or starvation while I nibble away at a block of cheese, a bunch of grapes, and gulp down mouthfuls of wine. Should I feel bad about that though? I was born into these circumstances, but do we really have a birthright to happiness and a full belly?

Well, no one really has a birthright to starve and live short, brutal, miserable lives. Also, to be frank, anyone posting here could die at any instant, which is why it is important to take what opportunies you have now, because you really have no way of knowing what is around the bend, for ill or good.

In the end, you have opportunities others don't, so just take them and make of them what you can. If in doing so you extend greater opportunities for others and doing thatmakes you feel better, all the better. But thinking that perhaps you aren't miserable enough doesn't do you or anyone else in the world any good, so what is the point of thinking that?

You've got the right to happiness in this country, and even a full belly believe it or not. They are giving food away.
